It's my turn to be in charge of planning the Christmas party for my friends this year.
YAWN... cant think of a worst task!
Hoping a miracle would happen & someone would take over.
Aesthetic procedures I have done - things like the whitening Vit C jab and nose filler with Dr Keith Ong. The blog has morph into my diary of sorts ...haha...

Ya Kun Kopi's crackers with kaya & butter
Inspired by Ya Kun Kopi's crackers with kaya & butter item, I attempted to do that at home for breakfast this morning. It was a roaring success ...LOL ...It tasted sooooo.... good.... & very sinful with generous helpings of butter.
I actually bought a new piece of butter just for this. Tomorrow I might attempt the french toast :))

Exporting Grandma to JB ?
My friend's family is thinking of sending her grandma to a nursing home in JB! She told me & said it made her feel terrible. But circumstances as such they have no choice as they couldn't afford the ones here & there's very little "beds". This problem might seem too far for most of us, but ..... we'll grow older one day. And someone might just export us to JB when our time comes! Can you imagine that?
So what can be done?
1. First, the cost must be reduce. How to do that? One way would be subsidies by government. We can even encourage people to donate regularly.
2. Another way to encourage people to take care of their elderly is to give substantial tax relief.
3. Getting staff is difficult, we can hire foreign maids, to work along side with the nurses in these homes.
4. If all else fails, resort to making everyone feel guilty by highlighting the fact that " you get what you sow" .... meaning treat your parents bad & you will receive the same if not worse treatment eventually. ....lol... that should work :)
Well I hope when my time comes, we have evolve to having those nice nursing home you see in those American movies ....lol... then I'll check myself in :-))

A world without Handphone ? Not possible !
Someone borrowed my car & I decided not to hitch a ride from my dad but take the mrt instead. I've not taken the mrt since I've got the car.
Very interesting. Just within the section I was in, I would say at least 80% of the people are either on their hp, messaging ,playing games, even watching Korean series (the girl beside me was:) ) I wonder how did it all get started?
I remember when I first travel to Japan & HKG, I was amused by how the people always seems to be reading something on their trains. The handphone has certainly changed our habits huh? The mind is constantly challenged into doing something. No time to rest & reflect. Still I cant imagine a world without the handphone now.
Oops time to sms my friend to confirm our lunch date later ...lol...

So Sad !
This week has been quite tiring. Last week was special as the whole country mourn our founding father, LKY.
Like most people ,I feel sad. Though I do not 'really know' the man, his accomplishments are hard to miss. His children & grand children eulogy were heart felt. I actually cried ! People braved the rain to say their last good byes. People stood & waited for hours before that, just to see him at the parliment house. That just goes to show how well respected he is. I didn't go, what if I cry there? I'm quite emo kind :((
Watched the coverage on TV on sunday. Dont know what will happen to us now.
Hope we will do him proud in the future.

New position
Oh... I've been transfer to a new department. A better department, a more important one you can say:) My first day in my new post felt empowering. I feel as if for once I'm making a real contribution. It came with more status & variety than all the other life experiences I could remember thus far.

Calm before the storm
Happy New Year
I just came back to work today after a short leave . Hmm... something is happening. Everyone seem extra quiet today. Is this what they call the calm before the storm? Well rumours is flying off the roof as of late. Sensitive stuff , cant write it here but I hope it don't involve me!
